Purpose of the Job:

This role supports the development and execution of personalized CVM propositions aimed at driving customer engagement and incremental revenue for Cell C. Operating within a high-performing CVM team, the Senior Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio of inbound channel offers (BLT, My Connecta Deals, etc.) and playing a key role in the evolution and performance of the Cell C Rewards platform.

Working closely with cross-functional teams—including data science, analytics, marketing technology, and product development—you will help translate customer insights into compelling, data-driven propositions. This role requires strong commercial acumen, initiative, and the ability to influence execution across teams.

Your work will directly impact how customers experience value from Cell C, with a particular focus on enhancing loyalty, retention and engagement through rewards and personalized offers.

Main Responsibilities:

Product Strategy implementation and execution

  • Support the development and execution of the personalized product strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs
  • Define and track key performance metrics to evaluate the impact of CVM product offerings
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are relevant, feasible, and customer-centric
  • Execute CVM initiatives that drive measurable customer behaviour change and value
  • Contribute to innovation efforts by identifying opportunities for improvement within the product roadmap

Product and Solution Development

  • Identify customer needs and translate them into compelling, scalable CVM propositions
  • Evaluate the feasibility and commercial viability of new product ideas and enhancements
  • Conduct and interpret ad hoc analyses on customer behaviour, usage, and spend patterns
  • Apply first principles thinking and data-driven insights to inform product decisions
  • Support pricing analysis and below-the-line offer optimization
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure CVM solutions integrate effectively into the marketing tech stack

Business planning

  • Contribute to the development of annual and quarterly business plans for your product area
  • Support the creation of business cases for new initiatives, including financial modelling and resource estimation
  • Participate in feasibility assessments and performance forecasting for proposed CVM activities

Rewards Platform Management

  • Manage the day-to-day operations and performance of the Cell C Rewards platform
  • Identify opportunities to enhance customer engagement and value through rewards-based propositions
  • Collaborate with partners and internal teams to source, test, and launch new rewards
  • Monitor platform usage, redemption behaviour, and customer feedback to inform improvements
  • Ensure alignment between rewards initiatives and broader CVM strategy

Campaign Execution Support

  • Work with campaign operations and analytics teams to ensure accurate targeting and execution of CVM campaigns
  • Provide input on segmentation, offer logic, and personalization strategies
  • Review campaign performance data and contribute to post-campaign analysis and reporting

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Product, Analytics) on CVM and rewards-related initiatives
  • Support alignment between commercial goals and execution teams through clear communication and documentation
  • Participate in cross-functional working groups to ensure seamless delivery of CVM initiatives

Minimum Qualification

  • 3-year degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Business Science, Engineering or any related field(NQF 7)
  • Post graduate studies are advantageous

Experience

  • 5-8 years of experience in a commercially focussed role in either Retail Banking, Financial Services, Telecoms, E-commerce or similar
  • Experience building brand new products or working in a start-up environment
  • Experience working with personalised marketing technology
  • Experience in Telecommunications industry (desired)
